Sustainability is a hot topic among brands and consumers alike, and for a good reasons the fashion industry’s environmental and social impact – from greenhouse gas emission to biodiversity loss and microplastics, to the mistreatment of garment workers and systematic racial injustices – can no longer be swept under the rug despite its very high profile worldwide.

The fashion industry thrives on innovation, not just in design but also in its materials, but from material innovations to circular system and cutting-edge manufacturng technologies, how can fashion lean on innovation and technology to drive sustainability and transform they way clothes are designed, produced and sold? And so become truly sustainable.

When it comes to sustainability and solving fashion’s most pressing problems, the most visible solutions are often led by mega-brand companies that make pledges to be sustainable but don’t explain how far they will committed to this.

This lack of transparency has resulted in rampant greenwashing across their product ranges and their commitments are sidelined rather than really creating circular solutions.
