Clean energy is energy that comes from renewable, zero emission sources that do not pollute the atmosphere when used, as well as energy saved by energy efficiency measures.
Renewable energy is power generated from sources that are constantly being replenished. These renewable energy resources won’t run out, unlike fossil fuels and gas, and include wind and solar energy.
However, while most green energy sources are renewable, not all renewable energy sources are seen as being green. For example, hydropower is a renewable resource, but some would argue that it is not green, since the deforestation and industrialisation related to the building of hydro dams can damage the environment.
An easy way to remember the differences between these different energy types is:
Clean energy = clean air
Green energy = natural sources
Renewable energy = recyclable sources
For many people, powering their homes or small businesses using a small renewable energy system that is not connected to the electricity grid -- called a stand-alone system (off-grid system) -- makes economic sense and appeals to their environmental values.
Off-grid energy systems need to be extremely energy efficient in order to be cost effective and also extremely reliable because systems are typically installed in extremely remote areas where cost of service is very high.
Sundaya’s is a company with 30 years’ experience in off-grid PV solar energy systems with core activity in design, manufacturing, installation, monitoring and servicing of it’s systems.
Sundaya was established in 1993 by a team of passionate people who believed in commercializing solar energy in Indonesia. They wanted to develop and manufacture personal energy solutions for the 25 million rural households in Indonesia that had no connection to electricity grids. Sundaya started out slow, but quickly grew into the needs of the developing market.
Sundaya’s 30 years focus and success in the on off-grid PV market has resulted in a deep understanding on the issues of harvest, storage and enjoyment of energy and this understanding we have now transformed into a new service for the on-grid PV market. Now Sundaya can support all types of energy users to transform them to the “clean energy age”.
How can Sundaya support you with the transition to the “clean energy age”?
Sundaya can support you with the transition to the clean energy through 3 steps of “CSR-methodology” which stands for : Count – Save – Replace
1.Count
The first step in your transition to the clean energy is to install an energy accounting system (EAS). The EAS will provide data to Sundaya’s analytic software tools and their cloud platform will transform the data into information that we need to be able to give you the best possible and most cost effective solution for energy savings in your home, office or industry.
2.Save
After completing the “count step” they will be able to advise what types of energy saving investments can be made to reduce the energy consumption. Some energy saving advises can be given just after a few days of data collection from the energy accounting system and others will need several months of monitoring and analyses. Depending on the type of appliances that are in use at present some energy saving investments can be earned back in less than 1 year.
3.Replace
After all relatively low investment cost measures to reduce energy consumption through the “save step” have been taken the final step can be made to start replacing the source of energy through substitution/replacement with localized energy harvesting and storage. The easiest and presently cheapest source will be PV solar for which Sundaya provides a full service of design, installation, monitoring and monthly servicing.
Sundaya Configuration
Sundaya provides a holistic system configuration that is based on replacing both UPS and Diesel Genset with PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The exact sizing will need a detailed study of the facility power requirements. The BESS can then extend the time energy from the PV can be utilized including peak tariff hours.
