7th June: World Food Safety Day

Good food makes your life better

Modern lifestyle often makes people neglect body health. People forget to watch their diet and eat healthy foods. There are many places sell fast food that is more tempting and practical to consume.

In fact, not many fast foods have balanced nutritional content and instead contain fat, preservatives, artificial coloring, and other detrimental things.

One in five deaths worldwide are linked to poor eating habits, experts say.

Uzbekistan is listed as the country with the highest risk with a food-related death rate ten times that of Israel, which has the lowest risk.

Countries in the Mediterranean region, particularly France, Spain, and Israel, have the world's lowest number of deaths related to this diet.

In contrast, countries in Southeast, South and Central Asia are at the opposite end of the spectrum.

In addition, an analysis published in the Lancet health journal found that the food we consume every day is the biggest killer compared to smoking and is now the cause of 1 in 5 deaths worldwide.

Dangerous food menus include:

  • Too much salt consumption - causes three million deaths

  • Undereating of grains - resulted in three million deaths

  • Not eating enough fruit - causes two million deaths

Another main cause of death is a lack of consumption of nuts, seeds, vegetables, omega-3s from seafood and fiber.

How can food kill people?

About 10 million of the 11 million diet-related deaths are caused by cardiovascular disease and that explains why salt is such a problem.

Consuming too much salt can increase blood pressure and in turn increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Salt can also have a direct effect on the heart and blood vessels, leading to heart failure when the organs do not work effectively.

Cancer and diabetes are causes of death related to diet.

The importance of consuming healthy food for the body should not be underestimated. Eat healthy foods regularly for the body, including:

1. Maintain the digestive system

The first benefit of consuming healthy food regularly for the body is maintaining the digestive system. The large intestine is filled with natural bacteria which play an important role in metabolism and digestion.
